Students trained in the Entrepreneurship/Self Employment Pathway will develop an overview of the opportunities and versatility of being an entrepreneur. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of the personal character attributes an entrepreneur must develop, including risk taking, courageous, strong work ethic, innovative, and versatile. Students will learn about the elements of a business plan as well as create their own business plan. Students will be introduced to business marketing, budgeting, supervising and human resources regulations and practices. Students will have an opportunity to explore different entrepreneurship journeys through industry tours and guest speakers. Opportunities to gain work experience and build relationships are an integral part of the program. The Entrepreneurship Pathway will include a 20-hour internship at a local business. Further post-secondary education is highly recommended.
