Students trained in the Education Pathway will develop an overview of basic pre-kindergarten and elementary educator practices and operations. Students selecting this pathway should be interested in working in the education and social services world. Opportunities to gain work experience and build relationships are an integral part of the program. Students successfully completing the program requirements will be able to understand the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development in early childhood as well as the development of personal skills needed for employment. Students will study preschool and elementary activities such as establishing daily routines, use music for movement activities, use teaching aids, play activities and lesson plan formats. Our program uses local preschools and elementary schools as an extension of the class-room. Upon completion of the Education pathway requirements, students will have employable and marketable skills for entry level early childhood education occupations. Further post-secondary education is highly recommended.
