ORiginal school bus driver training course
ORiginal school bus driver training course
Yuba City Unified School District offers a complete school bus driver training program approved by California Department of Education, Ca DMV and CHP. Original classroom instruction is available approximately 4 times a year. Behind-the-wheel instruction is available to YCUSD employment candidants only.
Minimum required training for orginal school bus driver certification:
20 hours classroom (two week course)
20 hours BTW training (completion time varies based on schedule availabilty of trainee and trainer)

Renewal class can be offered to certified school bus drivers outside of the Yuba City School District when space is available. Renewal classes will be sceduled to coordinate with YCUSD school bus drivers' need only. School Bus Drivers are required to recieve a minimum of 10 hours of training each year based on their certification issuance date. Topics include defensive driving, safe operations school bus operations, 1st aid practices, vehicle components, laws and regulations. In-serivce training is scheduled based on the need and availability of the department. Yuba City School District is currently hiring for 8 hour and substitute school bus driver positions. The sucessful training and school bus driver certification process does not garantee a position with the district. An employment application is required for consideration. All district hiring practices apply.
