Energy Goal
Energy Goal
It is the goal of Yuba City Unified School District to use energy-saving measures whenever practical. Proposition 39 - the California Clean Energy Jobs Act - has allowed many positive changes to occur. Currently, the District is replacing many of our existing interior light fixtures with energy-efficient LED fixtures. These fixtures create a brighter classroom for our students for a more "energizing" learning environment. Many of the District's exterior lights are being replaced with LED fixtures and improved sensors and controls that will prevent lights from staying on during the day. Regular maintenance of our Heating and Air Conditioning systems helps to save energy by allowing air to flow freely, keeping students and staff more comfortable. District thermostats can be controlled remotely. This feature allows time-of-day and vacation programming for greater energy efficiency throughout the school year. The regular replacement of HVAC filters keeps our classrooms and office spaces clean and quiet. Timely replacement of HVAC equipment lets us take advantage of the latest energy efficiency technologies and helps make the District an Energy Star.
