Fashion Design
Students trained in the Fashion Design and Merchandising Pathway will develop an overview of the opportunities, creativity, and versatility of the fashion world. Students selecting this career pathway will gain in-depth knowledge of the fashion industry, including fashion history, textiles and textile production, apparel merchandising, garment construction, and social and psychological influences on fashion trends and fashion choices. Opportunities to gain work experience and build relationships are an integral part of the program. The Fashion Design and Merchandising Pathway can lead to careers from clothing designer to professional shopper. From small entrepreneur to large manufacturer, rewarding jobs in fashion exist in most communities. Further post-secondary education is highly recommended.
