oCTOBER IS NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY MONTH
oCTOBER IS NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY MONTH
Bus Evacuation Drills for all bus riders to be scheduled the week of October 19-22.
October is National School Bus Safety Month and is declared by a unanimous resolution of the United States Senate.
The purpose is for parents, students, teachers, motorists, and school bus drivers to promote the importance of school bus safety. School districts throughout the country will observe October 19 – 23, 2026 as school bus safety.
Let’s promote public service announcements throughout the year to reduce student injuries and make all school bus transportation safer from preventable accidents.
The California Department of Education and Yuba City USD would like to remind everyone to be extra cautious while driving through school zones and neighborhoods. Many motorists fail to yield to pedestrians when entering a school driveway or jaywalking across busy streets with their kids.
