Q: My child is not going to school today, what should I do?
A:
If your child will not be riding the bus, please call the Transportation Office at 822-5275 and let us know that the bus does not need to go by to pickup your student.  You can call any time of the day; if the office is closed you may leave a message.

Q: We have recently moved, how long until the bus can pickup my child at our new address?
A: Please allow 3 working days for any address changes.

Q: My child is picked up at our home address but can he be dropped off at his grandma's house in the afternoon?
A: We can accommodate one address for pickup and one address from drop off as long as it is every day of the week and the addresses are in the same district boundaries.  Please allow 3 working days for any address changes.

Q: My child is 4 years old, what type of restraint systems are installed in the buses?
A: All Special Needs buses are equipped with seat belts.  Car seats are installed and used for students until they turn 6 years old or until they are over 60 pounds.  In the event that a car seat is not the safest equipment for an individual child, the YCUSD Transportation Department and parents will agree upon alternate safety equipment.

Q: A family friend will be getting my child off the bus today when he arrives home, who do I need to contact?
A: Please call the Transportation Office at 822-5275 if someone else will be getting your child off the bus.  We have "Alternate Release Forms" you can fill out and list all adults who have permission to receive your child off the bus.  The bus driver will not release your child to anyone without prior consent from the parent.
